The Key To A Healthy Diet Is Exercise
As we hear more and more about healthy eating, calorie intake and the like, many of us seem to be ignoring the fact that exercise can and does play a major part in any diet. Very often the reason why someone may well put on a little weight is because, whether due to a changing lifestyle or working practices, they may not be as active as they once were. How many men do we see putting on weight when they stop playing football? How many ladies may gain a few pounds when they start a family and need to be in the home more often than they once were?
Exercise is not the be all and end all of a dietary regime, but when you add together healthy eating and exercise you have the makings of a long term weight loss and fitness plan which should improve your health and make you feel better about yourself. If you are unhappy about your weight there are all kinds of possible problems which you may encounter which include depression, comfort eating (the vicious circle which leads to more weight gain) and a lack of respect for yourself.
Many people become obsessed and often depressed about their weight and the way other people may perceive them, but lets not forget the fact that you are still the same person underneath. It may be that you do not have the confidence to express yourself as you once did, or you may go "into your shell" and often become home bound. Lifting the depression which is associated with weight problems can ensure that you have the drive and ambition to do something about your weight. While taking on a diet is still difficult for many, actually getting off your backside and looking towards a new eating and exercise regime is the main starting point for many.
Too many people assume that each and every offline or online diet you see will strip out the foods you like and replace them with salads and other foods which may not be particular to the taste of many. This is not the case, and it can often be a simple change in your exercise regime and eating certain foods in moderation which will do the trick for you. Any diet which relies on you to change your whole eating habits and reorganise your life is never going to work long term. True, you will need to make changes but even the most subtle of changes can make a big difference and normally a total overhaul of your life is just over kill.
