What Is The Caveman Diet?

The Australian diet market has seen the emergence of an old diet (in fact one which goes back to caveman days!) which is known as the Caveman Diet or the Alternate Day Fast Diet. But what is it and what can it do for you?

As the alternative name suggests, the Caveman Diet allows followers to eat one day and then fast the next and while medical opinion is split on the sense of this approach there appears to be some evidence that it can increase metabolic rates. Some followers of this revised diet also suggest that it can extend the life of those committed to the approach, but is it dangerous?

One interesting move over the last few months has been the introduction of low calorie days followed by high calorie days. Many believe that this is a more sensible approach to the subject of weight loss and again it has been suggested that this method also assists with increasing the metabolic rate thereby reduce the amount of fatty food which is stored by the body. But how long is it practical to stick to the diet?

While a fast day followed by a high calorie day for the rest of your life seems impossible to achieve even a low calorie day followed by a high calorie day may be impractical for many. How would you manage your social life? Would it reduce your energy levels?

The world of diets is a very controversial area and while we continue to see the emergence of new and exciting diet fads, there is some doubt as to the overall benefits available.
