Why Do So May Diets Fail?
If you check the internet you will see that there are literally hundreds of different diets available, online diets, offline diets, diet eBooks, diet audio books and many more. However, many are asking when we have the likes of the Weightwatcher diet and the Tesco diet, how do so many diets fail?
The first point to make is that it is not the diets which fail it is more down to the attitude and understanding of the people using the diet, and their ability to recognise that a diet is not just a short term solution, it should actually be a life changing move. We are not talking about a major change in lifestyles just a subtle change in certain areas such as :-
Eating Habits
Too many people feel that a weight loss diet means that they cannot enjoy the foods which they like and they need to revert to the likes of salads and an array of often bland tasting foods. This is not the case!
In many situations it is simply a case of cutting back on the foods which may have assisted heavily in your weight gain, but not cutting them out totally. By adding in some low fat foods, a generally more healthy diet and cutting back on over indulgence it is highly likely that you will see positive affects very quickly. However , do not forget that all diets do not suit all people and while it can be a little disheartening to begin a diet and see no real benefit, rest assured that there is a diet out there for you.
Exercise
For many people who are looking to trim up or lose a few pounds, the introduction of a simple exercise regime, whether walking the kids to school, walking to the pub or just taking the dog for a walk, can make a massive difference. This increased exercise allows the body to burn more fat and increases the metabolism of your body, i.e. the speed at which fat is burned.
Conclusion
In order to get the best out of your diet and exercise regime it is vital that you include these in your everyday life, and adapt your long term lifestyle accordingly. Many people fall into the trap of feeling that they are finished once the weight has been lost, and revert back to their old ways straight away. This is the vicious circle of dieting, weight loss, weight gain, dieting, weight loss, etc, something which can be soul destroying as well as have possible health side affects.
