As the name would suggest the Fruitarian diet is a fruit based weight loss program where followers are only able to eat the fruits of plants and trees. It is classed as a form of vegan diet but does not follow the vegan ideals outright.

Glycemic Index diet
The Glycemic Index diet (otherwise known as the Glycemic Index or GI) is a useful measure of how carbohydrates affect blood glucose levels. It offers a very interesting pointer towards low GI foods which are known to be beneficial to the health of many and was created by Dr David J Jenkins in 1980-81 at the University of Toronto.
The Graham diet
The Graham diet dates back to the early 1800s and well known writer of the time Sylvester Graham. His diet consists of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole wheat and high fibre foods and excludes meat and spices. While it was created to stop people at the time form having "impure thoughts" it is seen by many as one of the first steps towards the vegetarian diet of today.
Grapefruit diet
The Grapefruit diet (otherwise known as the Hollywood diet) dates back to the 1930s and is very similar to the more popular Atkins diet. Regarded by many as a fad diet it is an 18 day diet which allows three meals a day (similar makeup to the Atkins diet) and a half grapefruit with each meal. There are many who believe that grapefruits do in fact induce weight loss, a theory which has seemingly been backed up by medical advice.

Hacker's diet
The Hacker's diet is more of a mathematical formula in the form of an Excel spreadsheet which allows you to calculate your calorie intake, energy expenditure and then either adjust your calorie intake or your exercise regime to lose weight. This has nothing to do with medical advice on medical opinion and is purely based upon mathematics.
